Salesforce World Tour – it’s awesome, in the truest sense of the word*!

Yes, in case you haven’t heard, on May 17th, 10,000 Trailblazers will meet at Excel London. One goal for all – making the most out of the one big fabulous opportunity that is #SalesforceTour.

So how exactly do YOU lead yourself through the show that is second only to Dreamforce when it takes over San Francisco for a week every Autumn? Well, we’re here to help - and with over 11 years experience with Salesforce we’re not new to this. Team BrightGen has some helpful tips to share to make sure you get the most from the day.

1. Prepare yourself for the sheer scale

Russell Bird, our Head of Delivery recalls meeting a customer at one World Tour – and how it awakened the client to the size of the Salesforce world. Our client had ‘imagined a few people in a room’. In fact, you can expect keynotes, breakouts, interactive demos, a zone dedicated to Trailhead and more. It’s a comfortable shoe kind of day.

2. Get a plan and get specific with it

The breadth and depth of Salesforce development means that sacrifices may have to be made when it comes to building your own personal timetable for the day. You can’t do it all, but you can choose your priorities.

Robyn Bechelet, Business Success team Consultant, has her day all planned out. ‘I’m looking forward to seeing my colleagues in their element. Jon Maynard will be presenting on CPQ, BrightMedia demos will be run by our VP of Media and Social, Duncan Smith, and I’ll also be sure to track down Tracy Keeling in the Trailhead zone from 16:30 for some tips on Lightning too’.

3. Don't miss the highlights

Damon Kostidis, our Digital Transformation Project Lead sums it up: ‘The keynote speech is key for a reason - it's the opportunity see how the platform can be used in new and innovative ways’. An essential for everyone.

4. Think BIG

This one comes from our Sales team. Account Manager David Chandler says: ‘Don't miss the opportunity to just grab a coffee, stand back and feel the groundswell towards the Cloud. Take in the possibilities that Salesforce can bring to your business when you remove the barriers’.

5. Take the opportunity to learn from each other

As Carly Watling, our Marketing Manager says: ‘Working in the Salesforce Ohana is always exciting and I love that this day always brings everyone together – developers and CEO's, from huge multinational businesses to tiny charities – and we all speak the same language for one day’.

6. Develop yourself - on the day, and after

Our Business Success Manager Jon Maynard had this to share: ‘The Dev and Admin sessions are super helpful to get best practice approaches and new ideas - I'm constantly going back to the video recordings of the sessions from the Salesforce Community event ‘London's Calling’ earlier this year and I’m sure this will happen again after Salesforce Tour!’


7. Don’t neglect the Customer Success Expo

You can pick up some great swag at the partner booths, sure, but it’s so much more than that. At the BrightGen booth for example, team #BrightFORCE will be running 5 minute demos all day, covering key topics like Marketing Cloud, CPQ and our ad sales solution BrightMedia (see the times here). And you'll also find the Trailhead Zone here – take the chance to try for one of the trickier badges you might not normally do on your own, with the support of the team there. You can go home with much more than a new stress ball!

8. Hop on the Marketing Cloud bandwagon

Marketing Cloud is powerful and continues to be big news - you can certainly expect to hear success stories at Salesforce Tour. If you want more detail, pop by to see BrightGen Consultant Kristian Jenner at the BrightGen booth at 12 or 3. He’ll be running short demos of a lead nurture journey, customising a preference centre, and handling requests for erasure (hot on the GDPR topic).

9. Make some predictions

You could follow in the footsteps of James Burgess, one of our Service Managers. ‘I will be looking out for what’s going to be hot this year in the Salesforce ecosystem. Salesforce are very good at predicting, some might say setting, the trends for the coming year. Our team of Service Consultants have to be one step ahead to help our customers make the most of the incredible innovation and smart new tech that will be coming to the platform in the next 12 months – it’s going to be a busy day!’.

10. It really is all about you and yours...
