What it means to be Lightning Accredited
Just in time for Dreamforce 2017, BrightGen have once again achieved Lightning Accreditation for the Salesforce Platinum Partner tier, so if you apply the new “Lightning Accredited” filter when searching for a partner on the AppExchange, you’ll find us front and centre. And if you’re attending Dreamforce you’ll also see our logo in Lightning sessions and the Lightning Overview deck.
When I talk about Lightning Accreditation to prospects and customers, a couple of questions usually come up.
What is Lightning Accreditation?
Simply put, it means that BrightGen are skilled at migrating Salesforce customers from the Classic user experience to the new Lightning Experience.
Should we be using the Lightning Experience?
For existing customers, it depends. You have an existing cohort of users who have been trained to do their job in the Classic UX, so some analysis needs to be carried out to determine the impact of switching. The amount, and type, of customisation that has been carried out in your Classic UX needs to be taken into account, as this must be replicated or replaced in Lightning.
The first piece of good news is that the Lightning Readiness Report automatically scans your org and identifies the features and users that can seamlessly transition to the Lightning Experience and which need some work. It even gives you a high level estimate of how much effort is required to transition (note the word estimate – this isn’t an exact science but more a series of educated guesses).
The second piece of good news is that you can rollout the Lightning Experience by profile, so if you have groups of users who are a perfect fit you can move them over without impacting everyone else.
For prospects about to sign up with Salesforce, the answer is yes. A user or admin might have to switch back to Classic for the occasional item (managing field sets, for example) but that’s a small price to pay for the benefits of the Lightning Experience.
What’s so great about the Lightning Experience?
